Music Teacher's Office Pro Works on Win98!

Well I finally got around to installing Music Teacher's Office Pro on all of our studio computers at Weed Music Ltd. and was very pleased with the results, with one exception.

As I was building MTOPro using the .Net Framework 2.0 I was worried how it would install on Win98 and how it would perform with my underpowered server. Well, it worked out just fine. We use Win98 on most of our studio computers with a couple of XP machines as well. Our server is an old and tired IBM server with only 385 megs of ram running Windows Server 2003. We use it only as a file server so we keep the MTOPro Access db stored on it.

MTOpro is very stable and much faster than any other version to date. It installs faster, opens faster and runs faster all around with less glitches so I am very pleased indeed.

The only hassle I ran into was installing the .Net Framework on our Win98 machines. They only have 64 megs of ram so the installing the .Net Framework took over an hour! But they did take it and I am please that it is that backward compatible. This will make if very affordable for studios that want to get things started on the cheap. There are tons of used computers out there running Win98 that you can probably get for free. Any way thats the latest news about MTOPro.

'Till next time ,

Well I just figured out that I could have more than one blog. My personal blog would become really unfocused if I don't break out all the topics I can write about into separate blogs. It's a lot more work but readers will appreciate the focus I am sure.

As the title suggests this will blog will be directed to the development and marketing of Music Teacher's Office. I am going to cut this short so I can set my links appropriately and do some other chores but I will try & get back later today to add another post.
